Heathfield & Horam Football Club

From our home at Horam Recreation Ground, we offer boys and girls from 5 years to 18 years the opportunity to enjoy the game of football in a welcoming, safe and encouraging environment.

We are one of the biggest junior football clubs in the county and one of only a few clubs awarded FA Charter Standard Development status. This means that you can expect to find our coaches all qualified to at least FA Level 1 standard, all CRB checked and with first aid proficiency. They are all committed to helping any child fully develop their footballing potential and, at the same time, encouraging respect for all aspects of the game – fair play, team work, rules, referees and everything else that goes to make football such a fantastic sport to be a part of.

Our squads begin with the Rookies – from 5 years old children can join this group and enjoy an unstructured introduction to football, with fun games and an opportunity to gain familiarity with the ball and what it’s like to join in activities with a team.

From the Rookies, the children join our mini soccer squads – from Under 7s through to Under 10s. Here they develop their skills and knowledge of the game, playing mini soccer. The squad play their games in a non-competitive league format at Under 7s and Under 8s, and at Under 9s the teams get their first taste of competitive football before moving up to a 9-a-side format at under 11's and under 12's.

From Under 13's through to Under 18's, the squads play in competitive 11-a-side leagues and really develop their ball skills, their positional and play awareness, knowledge of the rules and their team spirit! Here they have a chance to take part in the League and County Cup competitions.

We also have a developing girls section at the club, with numbers and successes growing every season. Heathfield & Horam Football Club are proud to have been part of the local community for over 40 years and we hope that we will be offering football to the boys and girls in this area for many more to come!
