Welcome to Horam Village Hall

LATEST NEWS updated 20/7/21 - GET ACTIVE PATHWAY (GAP) AT HORAM RECREATION GROUND
We recently undertook a public consultation to install an all-weather, 1 km long, 2.5m wide pathway around the Recreation Ground to enable residents and visitors to walk, cycle, jog, scoot, wheel buggies or ride mobility scooters around the perimeter to enjoy the outdoors and exercise. We are also considering the provision of a pump track which is a course for honing skills on cycles, balance bikes, scooters and skateboards. We are delighted with the survey results, 212 completed paper surveys supporting the path and 206 support the pump track. 249 replied in favour to a facebook poll on the path. You can view the full report here -  The GAP at the REC public consultation. If you would like to comment on the planning it is quite easy to register a comment by clicking on link above and accept the disclaimer which will take you to our application page – you can then click on box “Comment on this application’’ and make your comments accordingly. http://planning.wealden.gov.uk/plandisp.aspx?recno=153641

Would you like to join us as a trustee of Horam Village Hall and Recreation Ground?
This past year has been another busy one for the Village Hall committee, with continuing improvement works throughout the hall and recreation ground that have included outdoor table tennis, new windows, resanded floor, the outdoor planters and the invaluable defibrillator. We continue to work on the Get Active Pathway and Pump track as we await the decision on the planning application so that we can then start to fundraise for this well supported project. We still have projects to pursue and continue to fundraise for these. These includes a new kitchen, roadside signage, electric charging points and cycle racks.

As a committee we hope we have developed, and continue to do so, a Village Hall that the village can be proud of and willing to use; one that is great value for money and a venue suitable for any number of uses and occasions. A venue for entertainment, community events and leisure activities. As volunteers, it is very much appreciated the time committee members give up. We have a booking secretary who takes care of the regular hall users (each night of the week) and the private bookings at the weekends. The management committee are the Charity Trustees and they meet six times a year. Representatives of the main user groups (Scouts, football, bowls, tennis, allotments and flower show) are invited to every committee meeting as guests. Our Annual meeting is on Tuesday 23rdNovember where all members re-stand for election.

The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank John Timbs for his years of service to Horam Village Hall.

If you would like to find out more about what being a committee member entails please contact the secretary, Leigh Ellen Skeggs at horamvillagehall@gmail.com
